A workshop on water harvesting techniques was organised by AMADE and NCA from December 5th to 6th 2007 on behalf of DCG Mali. The workshop presented the results of the study that was conducted on different rainwater harvesting techniques. The workshop presented rainwater harvesting techniques used in Mali such as zaï, stone bunds, roof top rainwater harvesting, etc. Techniques used in other countries such as Niger, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, and Kenya were also presented. The second day of the conference focused on next year's activities, namely testing the techniques in the field.
Representatives of organizations such as NEF, Helvetas, and AMADE also presented their experience with different rainwater harvesting techniques.
Representatives from CARE Niger and SAMAURIT (Mauritania) were invited to attend this workshop.
The report of this study was commented on at the workshop. These comments will be taken into account when finalizing the report which will then be published on our website.
