To support food security and natural resource management, DCG Sudan undertook a mapping of the natural resource management (NRM) and food security in the country. The mapping exercise seeks to gather and analyze the fragmented information and study results on the food security situation and natural resource management practices that are available within the different NGOs, UN bodies as well as other institutions working in both North and South Sudan, to validate these, and to make this information available to the relevant actors working on food security and natural resource management in the area for future use.
The review cuts across a broad array of issues, but focuses on food security and natural resource profiling and contextualization of management. As the war has created an information vacuum, there is a crucial need to make information about Sudan, and specifically the war and drought affected areas, available to actors of food security and the general public.
