Institutional Development and Phasing out of the Norwegian Involvement
The Case of Awash Conservation and Development Project. DCG Report 5
Size: 316 kb

Aregay Waktola and Michael G. Demissie

This report deals with institutional development and the status of transfer of activities in the Awash Conservation and Development Project (ACDP) implemented by CARE Ethiopia. The main purpose is to draw lessons from the experiences of ACDP on the important conditions for a successful project-transfer and how Norwegian NGOs may contribute to the process in the best possible way. The methodology followed included a review of literature; field visits in the project area; interviews with different actors (organizations, various institutions, and target communities). At the end of the field work, briefing sessions were held for reflection on the findings of the study and for further clarification on certain issues and facts and figures.
