Besides the Norwegian members, national DCGs exist in Eritrea, Ethiopia, Mali and Sudan. Their main responsibilities, besides carrying out DCG's annual activity plan, are to jointly develop new proposals for activities that contribute to achieveing DCG's objectives. 
The establishment of national networks brings coordination of dryland activities closer to the partners, and aims to improve in-country communication. National networks also play a bridge-building role in the coordination with other relevant organisations in the South.
Organisations, institutions and networks, nationally and internationally, interested in taking part in sharing learning experiences with DCG, may apply to become formal members or to be informally be linked to the DCG network.
