The Drylands Coordination Group (DCG) is a network for capacity building through exchange of practical experience and appropriate knowledge on food security in the drylands of Africa. The DCG networks in Eritrea, Ethiopia, Mali, and Sudan consist of NGOs as well as research institutions and governmental structures. DCG Norway administers funds from Norad to research projects and from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to information and policy work linked to the UNCCD and dryland challenges.

Enhancing Adaptation to Climate Change through Conservation Farming in Ethiopia

The purpose of this project is to introduce and test conservation farming under the farming conditions of drylands in the Amhara, Tigray and Oromiya regions by involving interested farmers so as to lay the ground for the adoption and dissemination of best CF practices and work towards achieving food security among the rural subsistence farming communities in all three regions. The purpose of the project is to document the knowledge on climate adaptation mechanisms of the selected pastoralist groups and disseminate these findings to relevant stakeholders.
